I am SO excited about today! I can officially announce that I am part of the 2012 Design Team over at Patches of Pink!!!!!!! I am SO happy! I applied thinking that there was a small chance I could make it, I never in a million years thought that I would be selected! I am thrilled!

For our very first project, we were asked to make a Valentine's Day themed project. Here is what I came up with:

Isn't she (or he) just priceless? I love this cut from the Create A Critter cartridge, in fact, I just love the cartridge altogether. It is a must have for any Cricut fan!

CBGM Design Team Color Inspiration Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!

Welcome back to the CBGM Design Team challenge hosted by the talented Gill M!

This month, we were asked to do a color inspiration challenge using the following colors;

Pretty, right? Browns and blues are my favorite colors to use, especially together.

Here is what I came up with;

This was a Christmas gift that I made for my father. I bought a brown frame and used the blue and brown in the gum boots and in the "BOYS" sign up top. It was very hard to get a picture to bring out the colors with out a flash. The flash gave the glass a glare and it looked horrible. I used cuts from Nate's ABCs Cartridge for the Cricut. I love this cartridge, there are some very cute cuts on it, plus my oldest son is named Nathan, so I am biast =)

Hello to all my wonderful and crafty friends

Welcome to Blog Hop for Ethan Pinter. He is a very sick little 2 year old boy.

Here is a bio from his mom, Melissa Pinter:

'My name is Melissa Pinter and I have a 2 year old son name Ethan Pinter who was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia att the age of two months old. This is a rare disease because he was not born with Bio Ducts. So Dr. Pintinger and the Akron Children's Team reconstructed them and the procedure was called a Kasi. So at the age of 8 months old Ethan and I were Life flighted to Cincinnati Children's because he had Upper GI bleeds. The only thing that woud help him would be a New liver. Feb 18th 2011 he had recieved a half of another babies liver. This baby saved my son's life and we are so ever so greatful. Ethan and I had waited a total of 9 months for this. We have been seperated from my husband and daughter during that time. Ethan is now 2 years old and is having complications and we are currently living at the Ronald Mcdonald House in Cincinnati till we get him better. He has two crucial virus's that he is currently fighting, they are the EBV Virus and CMV Illuminitis (Fatal Virus- it attacks every organ) .'

Doesn't this just break your heart? I know it sure does mine. I have a little boy Ethan's age and I could not imagine having to endure what this mother and her family have been through.

I loved the theme for this one because let's be honest, who doesn't love glitter and bling?!?!?!?!

Anyways, here is the card that I created for my son's birthday.

This was my first time coloring in and using a digi stamp. The picture doesn't show it very well but there is glitter on the handle of the sword and the skull on the pirates hat. Then I added I-Rocks the ribbon and the bottom of the card as well as the buttons on the pirates coat. My son is SO into pirates right now. He was Captain Jack Sparrow for Halloween and his 6th birthday party theme is Pirates.

Santa Baby Digital Blog Hop Day 1

National Cupcake Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the National Cupcake Day Blog Hop!

So, who doesn't love cupcakes? They are delicious, fun to make and beautiful to look at in some cases! Now that I have kids, I bake cupcakes a lot, especially for school events and birthdays. I really got sick of purchasing cakes that were over priced and frankly, just not that good. For my son's 2nd birthday, I baked him chocolate banana cupcakes, and boy were they delicious!

Anyways, enough of my cupcake babble and on to my projects =)

Here is layout 1, all ready for some pictures or perhaps even a very delicious cupcake recipe! How cute would it be to put together a scrapbook of cupcake and cookie recipes as a gift for someone who loves to bake?

L/O number 2! Just waiting for a picture or 2. Since I am the only female in my family, I guess I will have to do this page or one of my birthdays, perhaps my 30th.

L/O 3, I love this one, turned out very fun.

And finally, a birthday card I put together for my niece who is turning 9 on the 30th! How cute is the skull and crossbones with a cupcake? SO CUTE! It turned out really adorable, although the picture doesn't do it any justice.

I have gotten to know this wonderful woman quite well over the last 10 months or so, and she along with CanadianNickel Scrapn encouraged me to start my very own blog! Here is the project I made in honor of Ms. Dandy.

I used my 3 birds on Parade cartridge. This is just the cutest cartridge! I added a I-rock gem to the center of the birds party hat as well as on the cupcake to look like a cherry. I love my I-rock! I think every crafter should own one!

My Favourite Things Blog Hop!

This is a digital scrap booking page that I created using My Memories Suite. I am VERY new to this program but I sure love it. I thought this would be the PERFECT hop to use it for. This is a picture from last Halloween. My two boys. Jayden dressed as a shark and Nathan as black Spider-Man. There is something about dressing your kids up that makes them even more irresistible then they already are!

This month, the theme is Halloween with the colors purple and green. How fun! This is a holiday where I don't do many projects for. I am not huge on Halloween, however, this year I seem more excited then usual. Perhaps it's because my youngest son will be almost 2 and will have a good understanding on what is going on! Or maybe it's because we moved recently and there are TONS of kids in the area, so instead of the usual 7 kids we used to get, we are going to be getting SO much more!!!!!!! I love looking at the little costumes. Kids are just so darn cute.

Anyways, enough babble.... Here is my DT project:

This page is just waiting for the pictures that will be of my 2 little pirates =) I figured might as well get prepared by pre making the pages so all I have to do is drop the pictures into them.

This is a digital scrap booking page that I created using My Memories Suite. I am VERY new to this program but I sure love it. I thought this would be the PERFECT hop to use it for. This is a picture from last Halloween. My youngest son, Jayden, decided he wanted to wear this Dronkey mask from his Dronkey costume. It was just to priceless to not use! Such confidence in his clothing choice. As I mentioned yesterday, his big brother is going as Captain Jack Sparrow. Jayden will be one of his ship mates, also going as a pirate. Arr ye maties..... I'd watch it out on them 7 seas if I were you! No telling what my 2 little pirates will do =)

Hollywood Stars Blog Hop!

*SWOON*, yes folks, Mr. Leonardo Dicaprio. Is he just not the sexiest man (other then the one I am married to) ever? Honestly, I saw Titanic 17 times.....in the theater. I kept a photo album of pictures cut from magazines when I was in school. My binders were plastered with his pictures as well.

World Cardmaking Day blog Hop!

Since it is October, I saw it only fit to make my project Halloween themed! Yippy!

The sentiment on this card says "What's hiding under the bed". This cute little Frankenstein was cut from the Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge. He's so adorable. I had to take a picture of this without the flash so that the sentiment would show up. Here is a picture with the flash.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Blog Hop

Hello my crafting friends,

Welcome to the Breast Cancer Awareness blog hop!! We want to spread the news about this deadly disease that could be cured if it is diagnosed in time. I know that each and everyone of us has been touched by someone with cancer or has had it themselves. Please invite your family and friends to participate in the hop. Losing a family member, friend or even our pets is very difficult. I hope you all hop through this journey with us.

If you have arrived here from my friend Haidee's blog, then you are on the right track. If not, please start at the beginning of the hop, at my lovely friend, Dee's blog.

For this hop, we were asked to create something with the breast cancer theme. I am doing this hop, not only for all the women (and men) out there who have suffered from this horrible disease, being having it, to knowing some who has suffered or lost their life from it. I am also doing this hop for my sister, Ashley, who won the battle over cancer at the young age of 15, and though 22 now, it's still a battle to make sure she stays healthy. Ashley, I love you more then the moon and starts, you are my inspiration and my hero and I thank god everyday that I have you as my sister.

Right then, now to my project.

I was lucky enough to win the Pink Journey Cricut cartridge last year from a blog hop. This was the most perfect hop (obviously) to use it on.

I wanted this to be simple, to not take away from what the cause is. What is more simple then the classic pink ribbon? I used my Martha Stewart glitter to glitter up the ribbon to make it stand out. Even though a simple looking card, I feel it is elegant in it's own right.

I know many know people who have fought this disease as well as who have lost their fight. My great grandmother was one of the unfortunate ones who lost her fight to this disease. I never had the honor of meeting her, as my grandmother was only 7 herself when breast cancer took her. On a more inspirational note, one of the district managers at my previous job was diagnosed about 4 years or so back, her breast cancer had spread to her spine and things were looking grim. She opted for chemo. Well she is a fighter, she is currently in remission! She is amazing, she does tons of charity work for this cause. She even has a t-shirt that reads "Yes these are fake, my other ones tried to kill me", although not funny to some, it's nice to see her have humor about her ordeal.

Scrappin Chics Challenge Blog - October project 1

Oh My Goodness......Can you even believe it's OCTOBER! Where has the year gone? Well I am back with the Scrappin' Chics Challenge Blog Design Team! This month, the theme is Halloween with the colors purple and green. How fun! I have NEVER made a Halloween inspired project before, yet I had NO issue in coming up with one, it's like the creative juices were just flowing! In fact I completed 7 projects this past weekend!!! Insane.

MONSTER HALLOWEEN TREAT BOXES!

Zoh My Gosh, how cute! I bought the Mini Monsters Cartridge just after last Halloween, I have been DYING to use it for something! These little guys are just darling. Already filled with treats for my little men, now to try and keep them hidden until Halloween!

Now that I have made these, I may try other boxes, they always made me SO nervous, but they are really quite simple.

CBGM Challenge 2 - Scrapbox Challenge

Hello my crafty ones!

I am back with my second project for the CBGM Design Team as their Guest Designer for September!

The theme for the second challenge is "Scrapbox Challenge". I know I have a LOT of scraps and you think it would be easy to come up with a project based on them, but it isn't! This was a very challenging project for me. I am very happy with the end result though.

Here are the scraps I had to work with:

I went through my scraps and pulled all this stuff out. I really was not sure what I could come up with. It's hard to picture your scraps as anything other then, well, scraps.

After an hour or so of staring at this pile, the wheels started to turn. This is my finished product:

Z Fold Card: Base is 11 x 4 1/2, then scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2.
I used my circle cutter to cut all the medallions. I topped the cherries with red I-rocks so that they resembled cherries.

Well that is my project. I would like to thank Gill and the design team for inviting me to be apart of the challenges for this month. I had a blast girls. You all are amazingly talented.

I love seals! I used my circle cutter to cut the circles out. I attached the circle to the card using an Action Wobble which just helped make this card! I have been dying to use this seal since I bought him at Micheals. I have LOVED this months theme! CBGM Design Team Guest Designer

Hello my crafty ones!

So I have this wonderful and crafty friend named Gill, I dunno, you might have heard of her. She is the owner of Creations By Gill M. ..... If you haven't heard of her, well you simply must go and check her out. She is so wonderfully talented and one of my all time FAVORITE crafters! Anyways, she asked me to be apart of the CBGM Design Team as a guest designer for the month of September! What an honor!

Of course I jumped at the opportunity, I mean when Gill asks you to do anything crafty with her, you just can't say no! It's not even possible!

Anyways, the theme for the first challenge is "Pretty as a Cupcake". Now I LOVE CUPCAKES! I think they are not only yummy to eat, but gorgeous to look at. Now I wanted to create a birthday card for a friend of mine, and this was a perfect theme.

I had such a hard time getting a good picture of this. But what I did was emboss the cupcake paper with a Sizzix birthday folder that reads "Happy Birthday". This looks really good when you look at the actual card, but the picture just isn't picking up on it like I wanted it to. I cut the cupcake from the Cricut Lite Cartridge - Love You A Latte. Such a cute cart! I tied ribbon around to give it a nice finishing touch. I also glittered the top of the strawberry for a little bit of sparkle.

I can't remember where I purchased the adorable cupcake paper from. But I hope I remember because I am almost out and it's my favorite! I attached the cupcake onto the card using an Action Wobble. Voila!

Scrappin Chics Challenge Blog - September Project 1

I can not even believe it is September! This means that my first born starts kindergarten TOMORROW!!!!! They grow WAY to quick, don't then. So when I think of the above theme, Cotton Candy is what comes to mind! I mean I know that's one of my favorite things to eat at a fair! Who doesn't love a nice, sticky cotton candy???? I obviously used cotton balls, but I took a blue and green ink pad and gave the cotton some color. Adds to the look. This was a super fun and easy card to make!

Happy Birthday to YOOOOU! I love your cards, just great! I grew up in as the middle child of 14 children so I never had a birthday party, just ice-cream and cake after dinner. When my son was 5 years old and I was turning 30, I was putting him to bed one night and he asked me about my birthday's when I was little and I told him that. He was shocked! On the afternoon of my birthday, he showed up with a bunch of the neighbor children yelled surprise! and had a surprise birthday party for me! It was the best birthday party I ever had! For presents I received clumsily wrapped matchbox cars & a seashell (that I still have) I got out the ice cream, cake & soda that my husband had bought for that night and we partied! We played games and had a wonderful time! My son is now 29 years old and when I tell that story, he gets embarrassed, but it is a treasured memory to me! CONGRATS CHRISTINE!!!

Becky's Birthday Blog Hop! Hey, that's me!!!

Well today is my 31st birthday. The big 3-1! What's better then celebrating your birthday then with a hop in honor of it!!!! This is my first time hosting a hop and I am really, really, REALLY excited. I want to thank each and every one of these ladies for helping me celebrate my birthday!

So, on to my projects for this blog hop. Surprisingly, I was unable to incorporate ALL the above themes into 1 project, so I made 3.

This is my cherry themed card. I did a Z fold card (which is one of my favorites to make). I also used my I-Rock (which I also LOVE). The sentiment is a simple "Friend". I used the cherries from the Nifty Fifties cartridge (another fave). I really like the way this one turned out.

This is my fairy and polka dot themed card! I think this one is so adorable! I found these uber cute stickers at Micheal's, and being the fairy lover that I am, I had to buy them! The mushroom was made using my Tinkerbell cricut cartridge. as you can see, it's another Z fold and I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the front.

And this is my 1950's themed poodle card. Another z fold. I used pinks and blues here because I feel that it really gives the card a 1950's feel. We have a sweet 17 year old at work helping us out and her last day is this week, so I think I am going to give her this as a thank you.

Scrappin' Chick Desgin Team - Project 2 - August

This month, the theme was banners / pennants. I liked this theme because it made me think outside of the box as I never ever think to use banner or pennants on my projects. This has been a great month for playing around.

Fun with 3 Birds on Parade........

Hello my crafty friends!

Just popping in to share some projects I made using my 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. I love this cartridge! It's just so darn cute. Tonight I was just fooling around with the cuts on this cartridge. My favorite cuts are the baby birds! So naturally I needed to make something using these adorable baby birds.

ISN'T SHE ADORABLE????????? Now I just need someone to have a baby girl so that I can use this card! (No Stacey, this isn't the card I made for you)

For those of you who have checked in on my posts, you know that my BFF is in the process of adoption and has now officially been put on the list for a baby!!! I am so excited for her and I told her that I already made her baby cards (one for each sex) so that I can be ready! But I would never want to ruin the surprise, so I have made a different set for her.

"Tweet" Little Man

Seriously, how can you not just love this cartridge? All the cuts are super adorable and fun! This little guy reminds me of my 1 year old, with his blue blanket. Except instead of the soother, it would be his finger in his mouth.

If you don't have this cartridge, I have seen it fairly cheap on Cricutmachine.com. Also, for anyone peeking here, I am looking at buying Hello Kitty Greetings, so if your selling one for a REASONABLE price, please leave a message on here with contact info. I have been looking on ebay and honestly the prices are not that great for this cartridge and I haven't seen it in store (I'm in Western Canada).

Scrappin' Chics Design Team August - Project 1

I'M BAAAAAACK!!!

OMG I have missed you all in the crafting world SO much, you have no idea. The move went SMOOTHLY and the unpacking is almost complete, just working on finishing up the entertainment room and the final touches on my craft room. I love having a room all for crafting! AHHHH.

Anyways, I am here to showcase my Design Team Project 1 for August over at Scrappin' Chics Challenge Blog. This month we were asked to make a project using pennants and/or banners. There was a football boy from the Cricut lite cartridge "Playtime" that I have been dying to use and was perfect for this challenge.

With out further Adieu: here is my project 1 for August.

This card is to celebrate the fact that the NFL is returning this season! We are all big Patriots fans in this house so we can not wait to see what Tom Brady has in store for us this season! GO PATS GO!!!!!

Before I get into my dream, I want to show you the card that I made for this hop. I am SO thrilled with this card and it may be one of my favorites yet.

EEEK, seriously, I love this card. As you can tell, my dream has always been to live, as a young adult, in the 1950's! How fantastic is that era? The clothes, the cars, everything, it just seems like it would have been just SO amazing, but NO, I got the 80's........nuff said (and just so you know, that's me and Leonardo DiCaprio dancing......In my dreams I am married to him in the 50's........It's my dream, don't hate :D).

If you love the 50's, as I do, then the Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge is for you! I love it so much!

Fairy Day Blog Hop!

Hello my wonderful crafty friends!

So let me share with you how EXTREMELY excited I am to be in this blog hop. Now, for those of you who know me, you know that I LOVE FAIRIES! But that's not the only reason I am excited for this hop. I am also excited because this hop is hosted by one of my most favorite crafters in the whole entire world, Gill M! Without further adieu, here is my project for the Fairy Day Blog Hop. This is a card that I made for my Aunt's 50th birthday. She hasn't opened it yet, but I am hoping when she does, that she loves it.

I found this image on the internet. I love how her colors are dim, almost retro and how she kind of looks like a 50's pinup. Just gorgeous. Now this card was really simple as I was in the process of packing up and moving at the time. I was really happy with how she turned out though.

Scrappin Chics Design Blog - June - Project 3

HELLO!!!!!

Well I have been missing the wonderful world of blogging, this is a scheduled post so by now I am officially in my new house......for 4 days now. Exciting!!!!

You know what else is super exciting???? Scrappin Chics Design Blog...that's what! I am here to share my 3rd and final project for June with you wonderful people in blog land!

Now, I went a little crazy and didn't include an inspirational saying on this one (GASP). I felt that this picture was inspiration enough on it's own. Scrappin Chics Design Blog - June - Project 2

Welcome oh crafty ones!

This is the Scrappin Chics Design Blog - Project 2 post! This is my FAVORITE project thus far that I have made for this DT! So this generally means that I am REALLY REALLY excited to share it with you all!!!!!!

First of all, let me refresh your memory on the theme for this month! The theme for June is Sunshine and Inspirational sayings. So without further adieu, I share with you Project 2 for June.

This is a card I made, I am not sure what I will use it for, but I just love it. This reminds me of myself with my oldest son. How they grow so quick. I wish they could stay this age forever.

The saying "Our memories like the ocean will linger on long after our footprints in the sand are gone." is just beautiful and fit in with this picture perfectly. This saying came from a set I won as blog candy from DEE . Thank you sweetie, this is my favorite stamp set!

Happy Birthday To Me Blog Hop!

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am so excited to be a part of this blog hop!!!! This is a hop in honor of my wonderful, beautiful, caring, amazing crafty friend DEE!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEE!!! I love you so much and I am so happy that you are my friend and I hope that you have the most amazing birthday ever! <3 <3 <3

So for this hop, the theme was vintage (which I have never attempted before) using the colors purple, eggplant or plum. This was among one of the harder projects for me to complete but I was pretty happy with how Dee's birthday card turned out.

Now I know it's not as "vintage" as it could be, but being that it was my first attempt, I was pretty happy with it. AND I got to use my new I-Rock (which I love). I found this background online. I also found the vintage fairy online too. It's amazing what you can find on Google!!!

Anyways, the next stop on this hop is the wonderfully talented and beautiful ANITA. Go and pay her a visit! I am sorry that I did not have time to pick up any Candy for this hop =( I am in the middle of moving and it's been hectic, to say the least.

Again, Happy Birthday Dee, you amaze me with your talent and your kind heart. I really do love you so much and wish you nothing but the best in the upcoming year (and then some).

Srappin Chics Project 3 - May

Hello my crafty friends!

Can you believe it is the end of May already? I survived the Rapture.....did you??????

So I am just popping in quick to share with you my 3rd and final project for May with the Scrappin Chics Design Team! These woman are amazing!

The theme for May was Kitchen. We had to make 3 projects this month, with this these. I am so loving what everyone has come up with.

Here is my last Kitchen themed project.

This is a thank you card that I made for the Chairwoman at my son's preschool. I wanted to do something that included tea and coffee as I love having coffee with this woman. She is such a wonderful lady and her son is one of my son's close friends. It was a really simple project, but I was happy with how it turned out.

Anyways, back to packing for me. Just under a month until we move! I am so excited.

Scrappin Chicks Challenge Blog - Project 2

Hello my bloggy friends,

Sorry I have been MIA lately. My DB and I have just purchased a house, and we move in 30 days, so we have been packing, packing, packing, sleeping, oh and packing! It's been crazy, that's for sure. We are very excited as this is our first house!!! EEK!

Anyways! On to craftier things.....

I have popped in today to share with you my second project for the month of May for the Scrappin' Chics Challenge Blog. If you haven't checked out this blog and met the other designers, please do so my clicking HERE. There are so many talented ladies on this design team!

My second project is geared towards Mother's Day. These are the cards that I made for my mom and my mother in law. I call this project "Mom's kitchen circa 1950"

I really felt like these had a mom's kitchen feel to them. I can see my grandmother wearing one of these dresses while baking in her kitchen for her kids. The origami dresses, I made. I think they are pretty cute. If you want to make them as well, you can youtube origami dresses and there are tons of how to videos on there. I originally wanted to make these 50 diner themed, but I didn't like how the aprons turned out.

Scrappin Chics Design Team - Project 1 - Kitchen Theme.

Hello my bloggy friends!

So I am excited the unveil my first ever design team project for the Scrappin Chics Challenge Blog.

This was a fun project to make. Let me tell you a little about it before I show you what I made. My very favorite cousin is getting married on June 5th. For his fiances shower card, I made what looks like a recipe card. I call this project "Recipe for Love". Enclosed in the card is 2 other smaller recipe cards, one is called "Recipe for a Happy Marriage" and the other one is called "Recipe for a Happy Family". The whole premise is to include a recipe in your card for the new bride, however, it was not specified what kind of recipe you had to include. I really thought this was a cute idea.

Here is my project

This is the card. On it I place words that I feel help to build a great and happy marriage.

This is the recipe card for a happy marriage. I though this was just so cute. All I did was Google "Recipe for a Happy Marriage" and a few different ones came up. This one was my favorite.

And this is the one for the recipe for a happy family =) Also very cute! Again, I just used Google and voila.
And here is the set together. I am really excited to give this to Machiko and I really hope she likes it.

This rocker chick cut came from the Rock Princess Cricut cartridge and I have been DYING to use her for something. I really wanted to use hot pink to signify WILD! I had a lot of fun creating this. I wish my i-rock had been delivered in time, as I could have gone CRAZY with the embellishments on this one.

Now as most of my followers know, I LOVE BLOG HOPS! I am in 6 in total for this month, but I was most honored to be asked by Bonnie to help her celebrate her birthday! Bonnie is one of my very favorite scrappers and one of the best blogs to follow! She is one heck of a scrapper. She gave us quite a unique theme for this hop too! We could create any project using Purple, Black, Hot Pink, White, Skulls, Vintage looking Keys, Butterflies and/or Distressed/Grunge Look. When I first saw this, I was like WHOA! How the heck am I going to combine this together. Well I didn't have everything in that list but I did have some, so I used what I could and this is what I came up with:

So it uses hot pink, purple, black, white and skulls. It gave me an excuse to use my new Rock Princess Cartridge!!!! I placed a sentiment on the card that may not entirely suit it, but it's such a gorgeous saying: It reads:

May the waves

kiss your feet,
the sand be
your seat
and your friends
out number the stars.

I just had to use it!!!! Its just such a beautiful saying.

Hello my crafty friends!

This is such a wonderful thing Misty is doing and I have to say that I am so happy to be apart of it (even if I am Canadian).

Operation Write Home recently put out a call for kid friendly cards that our hero’s could send home to their children. That got Misty to thinking, what is friendlier than a happy critter? This hop is to showcase cards that have been made for this great cause, and hopefully they will be send to Misty so she can send them off to the organizers of Operation Write Home.

I know that I have enjoyed making the cards for this, and I am glad I was able to find the time. I came home to create and walked in to a sick 5 year old. I thought for sure I would have to skip out on this blog hop, but I am VERY happy that I didn't have to!

So here is my card for the hop:

Now I left the front without a sentiment as well as the inside, as I don't know what the soilder would like the card for. Perhaps a birthday, or maybe just to say "I Love You". I figured leaving it blank would give more options to say what they wanted to say.

I used this little fawn from Create A Critter because he is so cute! And what's cuter then a fawn eating ice cream? Um......NOTHING! ROFL.

I'm also going to send along this card as well, now this wasn't made for this hop, it was made for a challenge, but I though it would be a perfect card for someone to fill out for their child, so when that child looks at it, they know that mommy or daddy is thinking of them every night.

Hop In Honor of My Dad!

Hello again my crafty friends!

The theme of this hop is a "masculine" inspired project. I was a little worried about this one because I usually create projects that are unisex or very feminine. So this was a wonderful hop for me to be in!!!

Yes folks, it's a BBQing bird! This is a card I made for my husbands stepfather, who's birthday is on April 24th. He is one heck of a BBQ-er!

Tartan Day Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Tartan Day Blog Hop, hosted my my wonderful friend Gill from Creations By Gill M!! I was very excited and honored to be asked to be in this blog hop with Gill! I have never worked with Tartan and so I was excited to do something different! This was a great idea for a blog hop Gill!

If you have arrived to my blog from Margaret's blog, then you are on the right track! If you are just checking in and would like to join the hop, then please start at Gill's blog (her link is at the top of this post). There are many talented people on this hop and I am really excited to see what everyone can create with Tartan!

The theme of this hop as I've mentioned is Tartan Day and here's a link to read up on what it is all about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartan_Day - what we are doing on this hop is bringing together a select few people from all over the world to take part and for them to create a project with an element of tartan on it.

This is a hop with a difference as along the hop there are letters to find in the postings - not all blogs have the letters but if you gather all the letters then at the end of the hop assemble them to create a scottish themed word. If you then return to Gill's blog and enter the Mr Linky at the bottom of the post (do not reveal the secret word yet). After the hop Gill will contact someone at random and ask them to email her with the word - if correct they win some lovely candy!!!!!

So now on to my project! I am very please with how this turned out. Who knew Tartan could be so fun?!?!?!?!?!?
So naturally, I used the sheep cut from Create A Critter! But instead of white or gray, I used a pink tartan paper for her body. her bows are black and white tartan. The letters were cut from my Rock Princess cartridge and I also used the pink tartan for the word "TARTAN" and the black and white tartan for the words "HAPPY and DAY". I also used a more traditional tartan for the background.

I really had a lot of fun with this project. Thank you Gill for coming up with this great hop and making all of think a little more outside of the box.

I can now reveal that my hidden blog hop letter is G, remember to collect all the letters from the hop and assemble to form a Scottish word then return to Gill's blog at the end of the hop and enter the Mr linky (not revealing the word) for your chance to win candy!!!!!

Happy Birthday to my Friend MIKE!!!!!

Hello my crafty friends.

So March 12th was my very good friend, Mike's, birthday.

<-------- This is Mike! HI MIKE =)

I wanted to make Mike a card with his favorite animal on it. His favorite animal is a dog =)

So I made this card, using my create a critter cartridge =) Of course! I made the terriers in opposite colors (the terrier with the heart on the collar is me!). This is the first home made card that Mike was ever given. He has it displayed in his house on his stereo, which makes me very happy.

So let me say this:

St. Paddy's Day Blog Hop!

Hello my crafty friends!

So I am really excited to be in this blog hop! This one is just a wee bit 'o Irish fun! So if you are coming here from Tricia's blog, then you are on the right track. So the theme for this blog was St. Paddy's Day and you were required to use either a 3 or 4 leaf clover. How fun! Here is my project for the hop.

I just love this Leprechaun! The cute thing is, he is attached with an Action Wobble so he actually dances an Irish jig! He's just really happy that he found that Pot 'O Gold!

I was stuck on this project for a while, I just didn't have anything with the shamrock, then I googled shamrock and up came this adorable background! I then printed it off and used it in the background. And I love how it came out.

Creative Blogger Award

Sorry I have been MIA the last week! I have been tied up with real life things, you know.....grown up issues! Bleh. But I am back!!!! My first post is another BLOG AWARD. Hello my bloggie friends!

First and foremost I want to thank Jenn and all the lovely and talented ladies that hopped along on Jenn's Birthday Blog Hop! Such amazing projects for such and amazing girl! It was a lot of fun!

Secondly, I want to share a card with you that I made for my best friend Stacey (Staceyleecraftspot.blogspot.com) and her husband Mike. These are the 2 most wonderful people and the greatest friends in the whole world. I wanted to give them a little token of my appreciation for their friendship and all they have done for me and my family over the years. This is the card I made for them, using my new 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.

This little bird is attached with an action wobble. Which would be why he looks crooked....... But anyways, I LOVE THIS CARTRIDGE! Seriously, if you can purchase this, it is a must have. I got mine from www.cricutmachine.com and it was $22.95 plus shipping. I also had it in under 24 hours. Amazing.

Woooo, I love getting new Cartridges!

Hello crafty friends!

Sorry I have been MIA the last few weeks. I have been super crazy at work and home life has been keeping me busy as well, top all that off with a creative block!!!! It's been a fun few weeks =)

So last week my BFF Stacey (of Staceyleecraftspot.blogspot.com) and I placed and order from Cricutmachine.com. I ordered 3 Birds On Parade ($22.95) and Rock Princess ($19.95). Great prices! That's not the best part (well it kinda is, but there is a best part II), she placed the order at noon on Wednesday and we had the order by 3pm the NEXT DAY! Not only was it 1 day when we didn't pay express shipping, this came from OHIO to CANADA! I must say that I was very impressed, considering that I am still waiting for an order from Oh My Crafts that I placed on Feb 4th!!!!

ANYWHOOOOO, I've been DYING to get both these cartridges! So naturally I had to pull out my Cricut tonight and see what I could create. Especially since I have been a creative funk. Tonight I played with Rock Princess, and I do love this cartridge! It's super fun and flirty! I created a birthday card for my friend Jill, who is a totally awesome biker chick! Not just a biker chick but a HARLEY girl to say the least! So this is the perfect cartridge for making things for her.

I just love the girly skull! This is just such a cute card! I had trouble sticking the skull onto the paper as I used glitter paper and it's very course, the adhesive would not stick, so I ended up sticking the skull on with an Action Wobble (which is another product I LOVE). So now the skull can rock out with Jilly!

Anyways, feels good to be creating again.

Creative block does not make for a happy crafter!

Hello crafty friends!

So I know it has been over a week since I have posted any creations, and that is because I am having one heck of a creative block! It's so frustrating. I have no clue what is causing it! Maybe it was the week last week, worst week I remember having in the last 3 years! I just don't know, but I am not a very happy camper about it.

So I decided that the only way to get past this little issue is to pull out my craft stuff and sit down and do whatever comes to mind. I did that for 3 hours. I cut shapes, I tried out ideas that were swirling around in my head, yet nothing! NOTHING!

I did decide to try a cut from the new cartridge I got in the mail 2 weeks ago. I got the Best Of Pixar cartridge and it has lots of wonderful cuts. I have had my eye on a cute little Boo from Monsters Inc. I really wanted to make her into a little bookmark for myself. So that is what I did. Here is my Boo bookmark.

I really do like the way it turned out. I like how she is a little more cartoony then the actual Boo cuts. There is also a Sully and a Mike cut like this that I will make bookmarks out of. Anyways friends, this seriously took me 3 hours! *sigh* Anyone have pointers on how to get out of one of these creative funks? Any tips would be great!

Alright, I am so excited to share my project with you all! I had an immediate idea and rolled with it and have had these done for 3 weeks!

I LOVE this little skunk, it has to be one of my favorite cuts from Create A Critter! She is holding an envelope full of love....awwwwww! And of course, after making this, I was unable to stop at just one, I had to make a set!

The ever adorable panda with yummy chocolates!

No set would be complete without a cupcake eating hippo! (This card was made for my Creepy Cupid at work......funny name I know =) But it was fun.)

And the adorable little lamb, with Valentine's Day flowers!

I am so in love with this set! And I can not stress enough......if you do not own the Create A Critter cartridge, then you are missing out! It's my all time FAVORITE!

Wacky Wednesday Challenge #25 - Valentine's Day & February RAK Club Card!!!

I love these Wacky Wednesday Challenge's! This week the challenge is Valentine's Day! You need to head over and visit Paula and More Than Favors and check out what she and many other talented ladies have come up with!

here are a few of my projects!

This card is my February RAK (Random Act of Kindness) card! Cute little Love Bug! The theme was lace and hearts. I must admit that I did panic a little when I saw the word "Lace" as I don't own lace, I don't use lace and I don't like lace........ So what I did was try and cut a card that somewhat resembled lace (which I am not sure worked). However, I do really like the outcome and how can you not just LOVE this little ladybug! So I need to post this off to my RAK recipient in Jolly 'Ol England.

Here is my second project, cricut free! Lady bug Valentines!

Aren't the adorable? And COMPLETELY CRICUTLESS! Instead of drawing the spots and a black line down the center of the heard, I embossed the wings with my cuttlebug. I then threaded antenna threw the top of the head and tied knots on the end. That part was time consuming as I did 18 of these little critters.

I really do like how they turned out, simple yet cute!

Anyways, my nighttime cold medicine is kicking in so I better go before I start typing things that do not make sense! Got to love having sick kids, you always know you are bound to get whatever they are carrying!

Wacky Wednesday #24!!!!

YAY! I got to craft tonight! But wouldn't you know it, after a couple cards I hit a brick wall! ARG I hate when that happens!

At any rate, I did make a card for the Wacky Wednesday #24 Challenge over at More Than Favors and hosted by the ever talented Paula! This weeks challenge was to create something using yellow, blue and white! 3 very awesome colors! And here is what I came up with!

This flower was cut using the Sweet Treats cartridge. I cut it at 5 inchs and made two bases. I glittered around the edge of the blue flower and in the yellow center. I stuck the card together with a brad so that it slides open to the left and right of the card. This isn't the greatest for standing the card up but I thought I would give it a try. We will see!

I was kind of on a roll with it tonight, and had a lot of fun creating.

Then I decided to make a baby card. This onsie was cut from the B is for Boys lite and welded together using the design studio at a size 5.
This card was super easy, as you can tell as there isn't much to it, however it's nice and simple and I thought it turned out pretty good.

So there you go, after a week dry spell due to sick kids, I was able to plug in my Cricut tonight and make some cuts.

Hello my fine feathered friends!

I have not forgotten about my blog, or you! I have had a house full of sickos for the past week and a 14 month old who is finally getting over his flu, but is now cutting 6 teeth, 4 of which are molars!!!! It's been a a awful 2 weeks, so I am hoping to be able to craft tonight, providing that my baby goes to bed without a hiccup. It's always so hard to get them back on a schedule after being sick.

Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #3 - Create A Critter

Na na na na na na na na CUPCAKES!!!!!!!

Here we are, home from the 5th birthday party for Nathan that seemed to take weeks to plan, and yet was over in just 2 hours! Aside from not having enough time to fit everything in without it being rushed, it was a fun time. This kids had a blast and I am sure all the parents are thankful that the kids were tuckered out! Got to love coffee and play area venues!

Anyhow, here are the cupcake toppers in all their glory!!!!

These are super easy and were a hit with all the little guys at the party! They turned out pretty good. It was Nathans idea to have yellow and blue icing, and I think it was a nice touch.

I love the fact that I can make things as simple as cupcake toppers on my cricut machine!!! Who doesn't love making kids parties a little less complicated and a little less expensive? I know I am a huge fan of both!!!

So, long story short, it was a great day with good food, great friends and lots of fun! I am no baker by any means, but I love making cupcake toppers! Hopefully be back either tomorrow or Tuesday with a paper craft!

HAPPY SATURDAY!!!!

Hello my crafty friends! Happy Saturday to you, I hope your weekend is going great so far. I know mine is! I am getting ready for my son's 5th birthday party tomorrow and have yet to bake his cupcakes! I sure hope they turn out.

Here are the cupcakes I did for my youngest son's birthday in November, he turned one on November 11th! HUGE Mickey Mouse fan too.

These were the first ones. Mickey ears made with OREO's! The red cupcake wrappers were purchased at Michaels and the buttons were made using Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge and my Cricut Design Studio. These sure were a hit with the kids!

This was the second batch I did, Mickey's head was made with a big OREO and 2 mini OREO's as the ears. I made the hands on my design studio and the Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge, then glues them onto toothpicks and stuck them through the cupcake wrapper. These were my favorite by far, so cute.

And here are the finished products, before being consumed by our friends and family! Super easy and super fun!

Keeping in theme of cupcakes, my husbands grandma's birthday is next week and turns 95! She is a amazing woman! I sat down last night and attempted a somewhat different card then what I typically make. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA GERT!

Created for Getting Cricky Challenge

Good morning my fine feathered friends!!!!

I just popped in quick to share my card that I made for the Created for Getting Cricky Challenge at http://kandrewdesigns.blogspot.com

This is my FIRST ever challenge and I am very excited. The challenge was to create anything to do with birds! Naturally I pulled out my Create A Critter cartridge and chose this awesome Owl! I have been dying to use him for something.

The sentiment reads "Tweet Dreams" and was made on my design studio using the Batman: Brave and the Bold cartridge. The background paper is from the Citrus pack from DCWV and is one of my all time favorites (and reminded me of a pair of pajamas)!!

AnyWOOOOOOOOT ( I know, lame) I was very excited to play with my Design Studio last night, I got some really great designs going! I hope to pull out the ol' expression tonight and play around with it!!!

Holy cupcake toppers Batman!!!

So I sat down at the table tonight and opened my BEAUTIFUL Cricut machine, the one that Santa Clause brought me for Christams....... Oh how I love it.......

Sorry, a little off topic, anyways, I sat down at my cricut machine and was trying to contain all the many ideas I had up in my head, then I remembered! OMG my son's birthday party is on Sunday and I have not even made the cupcake toppers! January seems to be escaping me at lightening speed, I don't know about the rest of you!

So that is what I did tonight. I made 24 cupcake toppers.

There were made using the Batman: Brave and the Bold Cricut cartridge. They were cut at 1 3/4" and mounted with the shadow option. Now let me tell you, my fingers are sore! But any bigger and they would look funny on a cupcake. They just need the tooth picks inserted into the area between the base and the shadow, I left a part unglued so that they just slide right in.

Now I love this Batman cartridge, it's not only because I have boys, but I LOVE THE FONT! I use this cartridge for my fonts because I just love how the font looks when it's cut. I would never have thought that this would have font on it as on the back of the box it doesn't show the fonts. But it does and it's awesome font, kind of fun and Batmanesque........

I also love this cartridge because of the many things you can do on it. You can make invitations, thank you cards, party hats, banners, 3D center pieces, masks, belts, goody boxes, there are just SO many possibilities. The characters come out looking pretty great too. Here is the birthday card I made for my mini man.
I think he is going to love it! I still can't believe that my first born baby will be 5. Unsure where the time went! Anyhow, I am sure I'm not the only mother in the world with children who are or have grown up way too fast.

Oh Ho Hum, Sitting here at work isn't much fun

Well, I have nothing creative to share at the moment, but I would like to share that I am at work and completely have no attention span to be here. I have all these ideas in my head and no outlet here to carry them out! ARG!

Also, anyone out there in cyber land want to give me tips

on what they use to color stamps. I know some use pencil crayons and some use markers, I guess I want to know what brands you use as I am in the market to buy some so I can start getting stamps! I really love some of the stamps out there. I love Scrappy mom stamps and Peachy Keen stamps and The Pink Stamper stamps, although have yet to purchase myself a set. I have also been introduced to adorable Emo kids by Simply Betty Stamps and hope to purchase some digi's too! So if you know what products I should look for or have any stamp recommendations please let me know!

And I am VERY excited as I purchased the new Best Of Pixar Cricut Cartridge off EBAY last night! I can NOT wait to get it! EEEEEKKKK

Happy crafting, I will hopefully post a project tonight!!! But for now, enjoy the birthday invites I made for my son's 5th Birthday! The party is this weekend!! How time flies, I can't believe he will be 5!!!!!

Welcome to my new blog!

Well, I did it, officially started a blog, thanks to the advice and support of some FABULOUS crafters! Dandy of Dandylicious Creates and Nicole of Canadian Nickel Scrap'n. If you are not following these blogs currently, then I suggest you check them out and follow them! They are some very talented beauties!

Well I guess for my first project, I am going to post this adorable card I made last night. I had my girlfriends little guy in mind while designing. this would be perfect for a 1st birthday as a card or an invite!

Cute right??? I think so. Seriously crafters, if you don't own the Create a Critter cartridge, you are seriously missing out!!!

Well that's it for my first post, I hope you enjoy my new blog. I hope to post everyday but with 2 young sons and a full time job, I'm not sure how well I can manage that!
